| BvDEP Users Benefit from Access to Comprehensive Range of Filings & Reports |
| |
| London, 3rd December 2007 – Perfect Information (PI), a provider of global financial information, today announces that it has partnered with Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing (BvDEP), one of the world’s leading electronic publishers of business and company information, to create access to PI's collection of original company reports and filings from BvDEP products. PI provides comprehensive coverage for 45,000 quoted companies globally, adding around 6,000 documents daily with a total library in excess of 8.7 million filings. The PI documents will be accessible from BvDEP’s OSIRIS and ZEPHYR. |
| ZEPHYR is a global database of M&A deals and rumours with links to company financials. It will include access to M&A related documents from PI, including transaction and offer documents plus prospectuses. |
| “The partnership is ideal for both companies as our product suites complement each other,ö said Lisa Wright, BvDEP’s commercial director for ZEPHYR, “We’re continually striving to add value for our customers. The accessibility of PI’s collection of filings and documents means users will be able to identify and research deals on ZEPHYR with the added benefit of accessing regulatory deal documentation such as offer documents and prospectuses for planned IPOs.ö |
| The OSIRIS database contains very detailed information on listed and delisted companies around the world. Users will be able to access the entire library of PI documents from the relevant company reports in OSIRIS. The documents cover a wide range of filings and reports including annual and interim reports, equity, debt and M&A documents, SEC filings, regulatory and non-regulatory news. |
| “PI is excited about this partnership and the opportunities it provides,ö said Greg Simidian, Managing Director, Perfect Information. “BvDEP has an excellent market reputation and an extensive reach across investment banking desktops making this affiliation a natural fit.ö |

 | | | BvDEP announces Chinese company information product - 11th June 2007 |
| |
| QIN covers public and private companies in mainland China |
| Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing (BvDEP), one of the world’s leading electronic publishers of business information, previewed QIN, the latest addition to its range of company information products, at this year’s SLA Conference in Denver last week. QIN includes both public and private companies in mainland China – the coverage is predominantly private companies. |
| QIN contains information on over 300,000 Chinese companies with three years’ financial history. The information is provided by SinoRating, a division of sinosure, a leading credit insurer and expert on the Chinese business environment. Additional information is provided by World’Vest Base, provider of information on listed companies worldwide. As well as financial data QIN also contains textual information on companies’ activities and will incorporate the detailed ownership and corporate structure information as provided on BvDEP’s other products. |
| QIN has BvDEP’s latest software format which has already received positive reviews. This new interface will be offered as an option on existing products in due course. |
| "QIN has been a highly anticipated product," said Angus Davidson, BvDEP’s regional managing director for the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions. "There is huge intrigue surrounding China’s economy and a particular interest in China’s private companies. We expect that this data, combined with the new interface which retains our renowned functionality with a sleeker presentation for an enhanced user experience, will be very well-received. Early feedback from SLA visitors has been extremely positive." |
| QIN will be on general release in the summer. Free trials can be pre-ordered via local account managers or by contacting info@bvdep.com. |

 | | | ZEW and BvDEP present their quarterly M&A Index - indicates decrease in worldwide M&A - 26th April 2007 |
| |
| Slight decrease in worldwide M&A activities in the first quarter of 2007 |
| Worldwide merger and acquisition (M&A) activities slightly dropped in the first quarter of 2007. Accordingly, the ZEW-ZEPHYR M&A Index is at 126 points in March 2007 com-pared to 142 points in December 2006 (see chart at the end of this press release), and is currently still significantly below its previous highs of January 2001 (158 points) and July 2005 (151 points) respectively. However, a considerable increase in worldwide M&A activities can be anticipated for the next months. Favourable economic conditions and an almost euphoric disposition of stock markets provide good medium term conditions for a further stimulation of the M&A market. Large-scale transactions are likely to occur particularly in the financial services sector as well as in the pharmaceutical indus-try. While in the former sector ABN Amro and Barclays already announced to merge there are also rumours of a merger between the Italian bank Unicredit and the French institute Société Générale. The pharmaceutical industry could face re-structuring from a supposed merger between Sanofi-Aventis and Bristol-Meyer Squibb. |
| |
| The ZEW-ZEPHYR M&A Index, which the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) and Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing (BvDEP) calculate every month, tracks the development of merger and acquisition transactions concluded worldwide from the start of the year 2000 onwards. The Index is calculated on the basis of both the number and the volume of mergers and acquisitions concluded worldwide, as recorded in BvDEP’s ZEPHYR Database. The index uses the monthly rates of change of both the number and volume of M&A transactions, combined and adjusted for volatility. As a result, the Index offers a much more precise picture of the level of M&A activity in the world than can be attained by observing transaction volumes alone. The reason for this is that a firm’s value on the stock exchange has a strong influence on the transaction value, particularly as many acquisitions are paid for by means of an exchange of shares. The consequence of this is that the share price could have a disproportionately strong influence on estimations of the trends in M&A transactions. If, however, the total volume is spread over a larger number of transactions within the month, this increases the value of the M&A Index, although the aggregate transaction value remains unchanged. |
| Further developments of M&A activities |
| Additional topics of the April 2007 issue of the M&A Report include the development of M&A activities in BRIC countries, in Middle and Eastern Europe, and in the pharmaceutical indus-try as well as a new ranking of investment banks and private equity firms. The current M&A-Report can be found online at: |

 | | | BvDEP adds significant North American data to its portfolio - 5th April 2007 |
| |
| 14 million companies added for the US and Canada taking global coverage to over 33 million |
| Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing (BvDEP), one of the world’s leading electronic publishers of business information, has added information on 14 million companies in the US and Canada to several of its company information titles. Notably, ORBIS, which covers companies around the world, incorporated the new data this week, and its coverage now stands at over 33 million companies globally. The ORBIS database is also provided via the global version of BvDEP’s “end-userö range, MINT GLOBAL. |
| Covering private companies, the reports are in a summarised format with more detailed information for the top 230,000 private companies scheduled for May. The information is provided by D&B. ICARUS, which specifically covers the US and Canada, is also a recipient of the new information. Listed companies have always been provided in a very detailed format. |
| BvDEP is now developing MINT products incorporating this new data. Existing MINTs include the renowned MINT UK which incorporates news, directors, company data and market research and its high sales figures reflect its perception in the market. One of the new MINTs will specifically cover the US and a more generic Americas version will also be provided. These are scheduled for quarter three. |
| “This new data significantly increases our global data offering as well as enabling us to make specific provision to the US and American market. We now have three offices in the US which indicates the importance we place on this market,ö said Mitch Gouss, manager of BvDEP’s recently established Chicago office. |

| |
| M&A ZEPHYR inflates |
| Coverage more than triples in three years to reach over 300,000 deals |
| ZEPHYR, the M&A database published by the business information company Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing (BvDEP), has seen its coverage cross the 300,000 deal threshold in the last week. BvDEP acquired the ZEPHYR database in 2002 (then known as Zephus.com), at which time it contained information on 80,000 deals. Since then BvDEP has developed both the content and software to make it comparable with its other products such as FAME and AMADEUS. |
| ZEPHYR contains information on M&A, IPO and private equity deals and includes company financials sourced from BvDEP’s extensive product range. No minimum deal value is applied, although researchers exercise prudence over extraneous deals. This ensures that deals are not overlooked if their value is not disclosed, and enables users to compare multiples over a maximum number of similar deals, which is of particular value for deals in niche industries. |
| In addition to current deal information, the researchers for ZEPHYR have being adding historical deal information for Asia and other regions. ZEPHYR now has five years of global coverage, whilst deals involving U.S. or European companies go back to the beginning of 1997. |
| “Our procedures focus on quality,ö said Lisa Wright, commercial director for ZEPHYR, adding, “All deals and deal updates are verified by senior researchers before publishing, and we cross-reference a vast variety of sources to compile our detailed records. ZEPHYR is an important component in BvDEP’s portfolio, hence the investment in its coverage and quality. We’re adding more deals per year, and have a pragmatic, denser coverage for our time period, than similar products on the market. In addition, ZEPHYR’s links to fundamentals for over 13 million companies around the world are a huge benefit to our users for research and more accurate company valuations.ö |

 | | | Iceland continues UK acquisition trail - 11th February 2005 |
| |
| ICELAND CONTINUES UK ACQUISITION TRAIL |
| Deal value up 120% in 2004 |
| 11th February 2005 – the number of Icelandic acquisitions of UK companies grew by nearly 200% in 2004, making the UK Iceland’s premier target country for non-domestic deals for the third year running. According to figures from ZEPHYR, Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing’s leading database of mergers and acquisitions, Iceland made 29 UK acquisitions during 2004, up from only ten deals in 2003. At the same time, the value of Icelandic acquisitions of UK businesses has more than doubled from €243 million in 2003 to €537 million in 2004. Major UK acquisitions during 2004 included the €180 million acquisition of Karen Millen Ltd by Baugur. |
| Despite the increasing appetite for acquiring UK companies, Icelandic corporates overwhelmingly favour domestic above foreign acquisitions. Domestic deals accounted for over 85% of Iceland’s 525 acquisitions in 2004. This corresponds to 60% of total deal value being attributed to domestic deals. |
| In addition, although Iceland is very acquisitive in the UK, it remains rare for UK companies to acquire businesses in Iceland. In 2004, the UK only made one small acquisition in the region - the €15 million acquisition of Landmat International by Enpocket Ltd - and 2003 tells a similar story with the UK making a single acquisition in Iceland. Traditionally, the US has been the most active acquirer in Iceland year on year. US companies completed six acquisitions during 2004, with a total deal value of €355 million. Deals included the €307 million acquisition of Nordural HF by Century Aluminum Company. |
| In terms of sector activity, the Banking, Insurance and Financial sector has unsurprisingly been the most active sector for Icelandic M&A. Last year saw a total of 202 deals involving Icelandic companies with an overall deal value of €1.8 billion. Major deals in the sector included the €219 million acquisition of Bolig- og Nćringsbanken ASA by Íslandsbanki HF in November 2004. |
| By comparison, the retail sector has not been a particularly active sector. Since 2002, Icelandic companies have only been involved in 59 retail deals, as either acquirer or target, with total deal value of only €588 million. |
| Lisa Wright, commercial director for Zephyr, commented: |
| “Retail has traditionally been a less active sector in Icelandic M&A. At over €1 billion, Baugur’s bid for Somerfield will not only be the country’s biggest ever retail deal, but its biggest ever M&A transaction and certainly puts Iceland on the map in terms of the global M&A market.ö |
