ORBIS is a global database which has information on 60 million companies. ORBIS includes advanced search and analysis software so you can identify and evaluate companies around the world using just one BvD product.

The ORBIS database is also available on MINT GLOBAL which has been specifically designed for end-user access.
The companies breakdown as follows:
- over 60,300 publicly quoted companies worldwide,
- over 30,300 banks and over 9,000 insurance companies,
- over 26.3 million European companies from 46 countries,
- over 19.2 million US and Canadian companies,
- over 5.4 million South and Central American companies,
- over 6 million companies in the Far East and Central Asia (mainly in Japan, Korea, China)
- over 360,000 African companies
- over 62,200 companies in Oceania
- over 72,000 companies in the Middle East
The information is sourced from many different information providers (IPs), all experts in their regions or disciplines. As well as descriptive information and the company financials, ORBIS contains further detail such as news, market research, ratings and country reports, scanned reports, ownership and M&A data.
ORBIS has a number of different reports per company. You can choose to view a summary report, a report that automatically compares a company to its peers or view more detailed reports that are taken from BvD’s specialist products. For listed companies, banks and insurance companies plus major private companies more detailed information is available.
Searching
Using ORBIS you can now search by any combination of over a hundred criteria. You can also now search the market research and news modules to find companies that are involved in specific markets or have related news articles.
ORBIS now includes advanced analysis options too, including peer and statistical analyses. You can also create an analysis matrix using the segmentation function.
You can choose to access the whole of ORBIS or subsections based on company size. It is available on subscription or via a pay-per-view BvD credit account. These options can be combined for added flexibility.
ORBIS is available on the internet and as an intranet feed. The ORBIS database is also available under a simplified front-end for end-user access via MINT GLOBAL.
